The American's
Creed
by William
Tyler Page
"I believe in the
United States of America as a government of the people, by the
people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the
consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign
Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and
inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality,
justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their
lives and fortunes.
"I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to
support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and
to defend it against all enemies."
-- Written
1917, accepted by the United States House of Representatives on
April 3, 1918.

Say It
Believe It
Feel It!
Our
Pledge of Allegiance
by Sir
Francis Scott Key
I pledge allegiance to
the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for
which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and
justice for all.
Dear Protesters
by Tina
Blankenship
Will the war
come today,
When it will hit
us
no one can say
We go through
life
holding our
breath,
Hoping for peace
and fearing death.
Loved ones sit
on the front
line and wait,
While here at
home
the protesters show hate,
The men on the
line
know the score,
But people at
home
protest the war.
Why can't we
open our minds
And think of the
men
on those lines.
Don't block our
bridges
or clog the
streets.
Quit sitting in
the road
get up on your feet.
The soldiers are
there
this is true
But is causing
chaos
all you can do?
Take yourselves
home
and sit
yourselves down,
Act like a
person
not like a clown.
Think of a way
to show how you
feel
About all those
soldiers
who know war is real
Put yourselves
where they are
You just may see
how foolish you are.
